COMPACT FILING SYSTEM (also known as MOBILE COMPACTOR) is new filing concept which integrated with space saving concept. The idea is to maximize storage capacity of a given space with the mobility of the storage cabinet. In Malaysia, there are 3 main popular type of mobile compact filing system, manual type and mechanical type and also side track type. There is another type which is less common in Malaysia, electrical type.
The main components of a mobile compact filing system are: body of the cabinets, metal shelves, mobile base, bearings, and metal tracks. The main material of the whole mobile compactor is mild steel or cold roll steel. The term we use to describe a mobile compactor is “BAY”. For a set of mobile compactor, there are static bays (or rows for mechanical type), double sided movable (or sliding) bay, and single sided movable (sliding) bay.

Its is very popular in Malaysia for its cheap and low cost (as compared with mechanical type, and also it user effectiveness in space saving. It creates more flexibility in office space planning, and fully utilize the space given.
Manual Hand Push Mobile Compactor, by its name, mean it is operated by hand. Using best grade of steel material with thickness 0.7mm, we construct the body of the cabinet. The body was punched by imported turret punch machine and bend by hydraulic bending machine, to make a strong and durable frame of the cabinet.
The standard internal structure of mobile compactor comes with 4 pieces of metal shelves with 3 folds bending edges, to increase the loading weight of the metal shelves up to maximum 60kgs UDL per piece. The metal shelves were made to hang standard lateral filing pockets as well. Each bay comes with 5 compartments, and it is estimated to accommodate maximum 60 pieces of hardcover files per bay.
The mobile base is another important parts of the mobile compactor. It is a rectangular metal frame made of 1.2mm thickness cold roll sheet with durable metal bearings, which enable it to roll or to slide on a metal track. Normally, each set of mobile compactor with 1 static bay, which has no bearing on it. The metal track is made of 38mm x 38mm x 2.3mm square hollow with 50mm x 3mm flat bar on top it.

So far mechanical mobile compactor is less popular in Malaysia due to its high costing in Malaysia. Its overall specifications are almost the same as per manual mobile compactor, except it is operated with steering wheels.
The efficiency of Malaysia mechanical mobile is because it can mobilize more than 2 bays deep per row. For client who wish to really really maximize its storage space or filling space, mechanical can be one of their choices. We can have 3 bays deep , 4 bays deep, 5 bays deep, and maximum 6 bays deep.
Mechanical Mobile Compactor is the contrast of Manual Hand Push Mobile Compctor. It involves more complicated components to form its mechanism. Like manual mobile compactor filing system, we ue the best grade of cold roll steel sheet with thickness 0.7mm (before powder coating), we construct the strong and firm body of the cabinet. The body was punched by imported turret punch machine and bend by hydraulic bending machine, to make a strong and durable frame of the cabinet. Its internal structure is the same as per manual mobile compactor.
In Malaysia, there are a few of steel fabricator which involve in fabrication of mechanical mobile compactor. Most of them are located at Klang Valley, Selangor.
The mobile base of mechanical mobile compactor is constructed with 1.2mm thickness roll steel, and it is driven by bearings, steel chains, polish shaft and steel steering. From the outlook of the mechanical mobile compactor, there is a mechanism box attached to the body of the cabinet. The metal track is made of 2.3mm thickness sheet metal and solid flat bar.
Comparing to conventional manual hand push mobile compactor, the advantages of mechanical mobile compactor are 1. User is easier to roll the compactor by turning the steel steering, than by strength of user’s hand. 2. For standard size of our mechanical mobile compactor, a mechanism box can roll up to 12 bays of cabinet. Therefore more filing spaces can be built within a given space.

SIDE TRACK MOBILE COMPACTOR FILING SYSTEM
“Side Track” Mobile Compact Filing System is another type of mobile compactor, other than normal manual hand-push type and mechanical type which we can see in Malaysia Market. Side Track manual mobile compactor is still a new products and less popular products in Malaysia.
Basically there is a row of static bay at the back, and a few movable bays in front. Each bay with standard 4 adjustable shelves. Front movable bays with options either open shelf (no door), swing door or steel sliding door.
Glide A Side Mobile Compactor or Side Track Compactor, is an innovative design which was designed for those space with a wide but narrow space. Its structure is the same as per manual hand push mobile compactor. The only difference is side track compactor moved horizontally, while manual and mechanical type compactor moved vertically. Like manual mobile compactor filing system, we use the best grade of cold roll steel sheet with thickness 0.7mm (before powder coating), we construct the strong and firm body of the cabinet. The body was punched by imported turret punch machine and bend by hydraulic bending machine, to make a strong and durable frame of the cabinet. Its internal structure is the same as per manual mobile compactor.
In Malaysia, side track compactor is not popular at this moment. Most of the users are still using manual type mobile compactor due to its lower cost comparing to other types.
Normally side track compactor comes with a row of static bay, and a row of movable bay. Number of bays depend on the space of the site.
INSTALLATION OF MOBILE FILING COMPACTOR
The most critical part of installing a mobile compactor is adjusting alignment
Normally the compactors are delivered to the installation site parts by parts, which including the body panels, shelves, mobile base, and tracks. We must make sure the installation site has the adequate space for the installation of the compactor.
The steps of installation as follow:

- Insert the mobile base by sequence.
- Assemble the body of the compactor (shelves not included)
- join the assembled body of the compactor on the mobile base with screws
- insert the adjustable shelves
- Adjusting alignment
